In Berks County, we had the opportunity to rebuild an original stone foundation to a log home. The home was sitting on the edge of a pond, which pre-dated the stone farm house shown in the background of the pictures. The foundation was rebuilt and restored. The stones used for the project were from the site and were originally used in fence rows on the property. The challenge with this project was building on the edge of a pond. In order to prevent water from flowing back in, we had to build coffer dams. This restoration project lasted several months, but in the end we were able to restore the 17th century beauty to its original glory.
